KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker College men's golf team is in 16th place after day one of the Newberry College Invitational. The Newberry Invite is being played on the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.
Alex Rios led the Navy and Yellow with an opening round of 80. Will Bundy and Blake Baysden shot rounds of 83 and 85 on day one. John Duke and Jonathan Sundstrom rounded out the traveling five with scores of 88 and 92 during their opening 18 holes.
Coker's afternoon 18 holes were cut short due to darkness. They will finish round two in the morning then proceed to finish the final 18 holes of the 54-hole event in the afternoon.
Tee times will begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island.
