Coker Men Place Fourteenth at Aflac/Cougar Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Coker College men's golf team finished fourteenth in the 54-hole Aflac/Cougar Invitational played at the Country Club of Columbus with a team total of 889 (+37).  The Cobras shot rounds of 306 (+22) and 289 (+5) on day one and closed out the tournament with a final round 294 (+10) on the 6,615-yard par 71 course.

The Navy and Yellow were led by sophomore Will Bundy who shot a one over 72 on day two to finish with an individual total of 219 (+6). Freshman Jonathan Sundstrom and junior Blake Baysden finished with three round totals of 224 (+11). Sundstrom carded a third round 74 (+3) while Baysden fired a 75 (+4). Freshman Alex Rios came in with a final round 73 (+2) to finish at 226 (+13). Junior John Duke rounded out the starting five with a three-day total of 236 (+23) after a final round of 82 (+11).

Lee University took home the team title with a two day total of 851 (-1), while West Georgia and the host team, Columbus State, were right behind with scores of 852 (E) and 855 (+3). John Coultas of Florida Southern was the low individual with tournament total of 203 (-10).

The men's golf team will be back in action on Oct. 6-7 as they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.
