Coker Finishes Thirteenth at Kiawah Invitational After Final Round Cancelled

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – After two lightning delays and additional weather issues, the final round of the Kiawah Island Invitational was cancelled.

Since teams were still on the course, scores revert back to the last completed round. The Cobra men finished the tournament in 13th after shooting a team score of 298 (+10) in the opening round.

Leading the way for the Cobras was junior transfer John Duke who shot a 1-under 71 in his Coker debut. Duke's stellar first round leaves him in a tie for thirteenth individually. Sophomore Will Bundy and freshman Alex Rios both fired rounds of 75 (+3). Freshman Jonathon Sundstrom carded a 77 (+5). Rounding out the lineup was junior Blake Baysden who signed off for an 82 (+10).

Erskine and Flagler were tabbed co-champions as each shot an opening round of 283 (-5).

The Cobras will return to the links on Monday, Sept. 29 for the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State University.
