SALISBURY, N.C. – The Coker College men's golf team sits in fifth place (out of 18) at the Richard Rendleman Invitational after a first round team score of 311 (+27).
Senior Josh Clay led the Navy and Yellow with a first round 74 (+3). Clay's three-over round was good enough for fifth place on the individual leaderboard. Junior Christopher Fuga was next coming in with a 76 (+5). He sits in a tie for eighth after day one. Freshman Will Bundy was next for the Cobras with a first round score of 80 (+9). Rounding out the starting five for Coker was junior Zane Price and sophomore Blake Baysden with scores of 81 (+10) and 82 (+11) respectively.
Limestone College sits atop of the team leaderboard with a score of 305 (+21) while Queens University of Charlotte sits just three strokes behind at 308 (+24). Alex Weare of Queens is the individual leader after a first round 71 (E).
The final 18-hole round will begin tomorrow morning.
