Men's Basketball Releases 2019-20 Schedule

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University men's basketball team has released its 2019-20 schedule for its first season of play under new head coach Jarred Merrill. 

 The season begins with three non-conference games before jumping into South Atlantic Conference play. A home-and-home with Limestone College starts with the Cobras traveling to Gaffney, S.C. on Nov. 13 followed by the Saints coming to Hartsville on Nov. 20. Coker travels to Lander on Nov. 23, before opening up SAC play at Wingate on Nov. 26. Lincoln Memorial comes to town on Nov. 30 to conclude the opening month of the season. 

 December begins with a contest at home against Mars Hill (Dec. 7), before traveling to College of Charleston for a Division I exhibition the next day (Dec. 8). After hosting Lander on Dec. 11, the Cobras take a trip to Carson-Newman on Dec. 14, and Queens (N.C.) travels to Hartsville on Dec. 18 in the last game before the holidays. 

 The Cobras begin the new year at Lenoir-Rhyne on Jan. 4, before coming home to host Catawba on Jan. 8 and Tusculum on Jan. 11. The following week poses two road contests at Anderson (S.C.) (Jan. 15) and at league newcomer UVA-Wise (Jan. 18). Newberry journeys to Hartsville on Jan. 22, before the Cobras hit the road to wrap up the season series with Lincoln Memorial on Jan. 25. Wingate comes to town to wrap up their season series on Jan. 29, before games at Mars Hill (Feb. 1) and Queens (N.C.) (Feb. 5) wrap up their series. Carson-Newman comes to town on Feb. 8, before the Cobras travel to Catawba on Feb. 12. Coker hosts Lenoir-Rhyne (Feb. 15) and Anderson (S.C.), before traveling for the next two games at Tusculum (Feb. 22) and Newberry (Feb. 26). The Cobras will wrap up the regular season at home on Feb. 29 hosting UVA-Wise for Senior Day. 

"We're excited about the season ahead, we get the opportunity to compete and play against really good teams and amazing head coaches," said Merrill. "Our non-conference schedule, which includes a game against College of Charleston, will help prepare our program for an incredibly challenging conference schedule."
