Coker Drops Midweek Contest at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team dropped a South Atlantic Conference contest to the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears 83-72 on Wednesday (Jan. 24) evening. 

Donte Samuels led the way offensively with 20 points and six rebounds.  Khalil Halls added 12 points, and Larry Cooper chipped in 10 points in just 13 minutes of action. After falling behind early the Cobras used a 22-11 run to cut Lenoir-Rhyne's lead to 36-33.  The Bears responded with a run of their own to put the game away early in the second half. 

The Cobras will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 27) when they take on Carson-Newman in South Atlantic Conference action at the DeLoach Center. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
