Coker Begins Conference Play Against Lenoir-Rhyne

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will host the Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears on Wednesday (Nov. 29) night in the DeLoach Center at Dan Schmotzer Court. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. Live stats and video for the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com. 

The Navy and Gold head into tomorrow's game with three players averaging double-digit numbers in points per game (ppg). Khalil Halls leads Coker averaging 13.7 ppg, while Donte Samuels has accumulated 13.5 ppg. Jake Barrett is the final Cobra averaging double figures with 11.7 ppg. On the defensive end, Samuels has anchored the Cobras with a team-leading 7.7 rebounds per game and 1.7 steals per game. Larry Cooper is another Cobra to watch, averaging eight ppg and bringing down 5.3 rebounds per game. 

Lenoir-Rhyne enters tomorrow's contest with a 1-4 record. Cory Thomas leads the Bears scoring effort, averaging 14 points per game. On the boards, Bertrand Awana boasts the third best mark in the conference in rebounds, averaging 9.2 per game.
