Cobras Welcome Pioneers on Homecoming

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 11) at 4 p.m. to take on the visiting Tusculum College Pioneers in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Live stats and broadcast can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are led by the double-digit scoring threat of JaQuez Motley and Jake Barrett. Motley enters Saturday's game averaging 12.2 points per game, while Barrett is scoring 10.9 points per contest. Miguel Priest is averaging 9.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while Nathan Lemke is averaging 9.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, to go along with shooting 53.4 percent from the floor. Roman Hall rounds out the scoring threat for the Navy and Gold, pouring in just over nine points per game.

As the team, the Cobras ranked No. 8 in NCAA DII in turnovers forced per game, causing 18.52 per contest. The Navy and Gold also rank No. 10 in total steals, swiping 216 steals in 23 games.

Tusculum travels to Hartsville with a 10-13 overall record and a 7-10 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. They are led by the 15.6 points per game of Kendall Patterson.

Opening tip is set for 4 p.m. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. During halftime of the men's game, Coker will crown its 2017 Homecoming Court.
