Cobras Host Bears in Wednesday SAC Nightcap

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be back in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center of Wednedsday (Feb. 10) when they take on the visiting Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. with live stats and broadcast available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off a 72-62 home win over Anderson in their last game.

Donte Samuels continues to lead the way for the Navy and Gold, coming off a double-double (12 pts, 10 rebs) in his last appearance. He enters Wednesday's matchup averaging 15.5 points per game to go along with 5.8 rebounds per contest. Trey Marshall enters the contest averaging 11.3 points per game, while Aubrey Daniel is chipping in 10.1 points per game. On the defensive side of the ball, Trey James continues to be a force inside, averaging 7.7 rebounds per game and 2.2 blocks per game. As a unit, the Cobras are allowing a conference-low 71.2 points per game.

The Bears come into the matchup sporting a 14-7 overall record and a 9-7 in-conference record. They are led by Keenan Palmore, who is averaging 21.9 points per game and Will Perry, who is dropping just over 18 points per game.

Wednesday will be Play 4Kay night and all fans in attendance are encouraged to wear pink. The Cobras will help raise funds for breast cancer research by donating $1 for every free throw made during the game. The Coker Student Athlete Advisory Committee will also be selling pink ribbons that will be placed on the Coker Wall of Honor.

Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
