Coker Picks Up SAC Win Over Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team picked up a 79-65 South Atlantic Conference road victory over the Brevard College Tornados on Saturday (Feb. 14).

The Cobras would go a blazing 15-5 run in the final four minutes of the first half to propel them to a nine-point 40-31 lead going into the locker rooms.

The Navy and Yellow would continue their impressive offensive performance and go on an 8-0 run to start off the second half. Coker held the commanding double digit lead until the final whistle.

SAC leading scorer Errick Bethel led all scorers with 30 points, 21 of which came from behind the arc. Bethel also picked up a team-high five steals. Donte Samuels continued his solid play by shooting an efficient 5-for-7 from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe for 16 points. He also pulled down five rebounds. The trio of Trey Marshall, Aubrey Daniel and Jalen Watson each chipped in eight points. Marshall dished out seven assists, pulled down four rebounds and picked up three steals. Daniel also had three steals and pulled down a team best nine rebounds. Watson registered six rebounds.

Coker will be back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 18) as they travel to Wingate University for a SAC contest starting at 8 p.m.
