HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker's Donte Samuels scored a game-high 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Cobras' 65-61 loss to the Catawba Indians on Wednesday (Feb. 11) evening in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action.

It was a highly physical and tightly contested game from start to finish, with the Cobras taking a 35-27 lead into halftime.

After the break, Coker took as much as a 12-point lead with 18 minutes left in the game, but Catawba battled its way back over the next nine minutes, to take a 49-45 lead. The Cobras mounted a comeback of their own with 7-2 run to take 52-51 lead. Both teams exchanged baskets over the next three minutes, making it a 60-59 game in favor of the Indians. Unfortunately, that would be as close the Cobras would get as Catawba took home the 65-61 victory.

In addition to Samuels' 15 points, Errick Bethel added nine points, while a trio of Cobras; Jalen Watson, Aubrey Daniel and Trey Marshall, scored seven points each. Tim Buchikos also scored six points, pulled down four rebounds and had five blocks.

The Cobras will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 14) at Brevard College. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
