Coker to Host Catawba in SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be back in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Wednesday (Feb. 11) for South Atlantic Conference faceoff against the visiting Indians of Catawba College. Live stats and broadcast will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is 6-4 at home this season and has been on fire of as of late in Hartsville, going a sizzling 4-1 during the month of January in front of the home crowd.

The Navy and Yellow are led by SAC leading scorer Errick Bethel and his 19.9 points per game. Bethel is also sixth in steals averaging 1.6 per game. Donte Samuels will look to continue his efficient play on both ends of the floor. Samuels is in the top 20 in the SAC in a handful of statistical categories. He is 13th in the conference in field goal percentage shooting an even 50 percent from the field, 15th in points per game averaging 12.9 points a contest and 17th in rebounds per game pulling down 5.2 rebounds. Trey Marshall's 2.2 steal a game is still tops in the SAC and his 3.7 assists is fifth best. Trey James and Jalen Watson have been forces on the glass of late. Both are in the top 15 in rebounds in the conference averaging 7.4 and 5.3 rebounds, respectively.

The Indians come to town sporting a 10-12 overall record and are 7-9 in conference. Guard KJ Arrington who is averaging 18.1 points per game, which is second best in the conference, leads them. Jerrin Morrison is not far behind, averaging 16.1 points per game.

Wednesday's matchup is set to begin at 8 p.m. after the conclusion of the women's game in the DeLoach Center. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff. Fans are asked to wear pink as it will be Play4Kay breast cancer awareness night.
