Cobras Eyeing an Upset Over No. 2 Lincoln Memorial

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be back at home on Saturday (Jan. 31) to take on the No. 2 ranked Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters in South Atlantic Conference action. Tip is set for 4 p.m. with live stats and broadcast on www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras come into Saturday's matchup with a perfect 4-0 home record during the month of January, after a 67-62 win over Wingate.

The Navy and Yellow are led by SAC leading scorer Errick Bethel who is averaging 19.7 points per game this season. Donte Samuels is next, averaging 11.9 points per game after three straight games with double-digit point performances. Trey Marshall looks to continue his balanced attack on both ends of the floor, as he is averaging 9.6 points per game, 3.7 assists per game and has a SAC leading 2.4 steals per game. Trey James who is sixth in the conference with 7.7 rebounds a game, will be looking to record his fourth double-double of the season.

Lincoln Memorial, ranked No. 2 in the NABC DII poll, comes into the game with a perfect 19-0 overall record and a 13-0 in conference record. They are led by guards Luquon Choice and Lorenza Ross who are averaging 16.1 and 13.5 points per contest. As the team, the Railsplitters pull down nearly 44 rebounds a game, which is best in the conference.

Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
