Coker's Bethel Scores 25 in SAC Loss at Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, TENN – The Coker College men's basketball team lost to the Tusculum College Pioneers on the road Saturday (Jan. 24) 89-78 in South Atlantic Conference action.

In the first half, both teams traded buckets for 20 minutes heading to the locker room at halftime deadlocked, 42-42.

The first 13 minutes of the second half looked to be a mirror image of the first half. However, the Pioneers would use an 18-4 run to take the lead and the eventual victory.

SAC leading scorer Errick Bethel continued his hot shooting for the Navy and Yellow by putting up a game-high 25 points, 18 of which came from behind the arc. Donte Samuels also had an impressive afternoon shooting 7-13 from the floor for 21 points to go along with five rebounds, while Aubrey Daniel chipped in with eight points and three assists.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 28) when they take on the Wingate Bulldogs in a SAC doubleheader. Tip is set for 8 p.m., following the conclusion of the women's game.
