Cobras Fall to SAC Foe Queens 78-53

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team dropped its South Atlantic Conference matchup to the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte 78-53 on Wednesday (Jan. 7).

The Royals held a 39-28 lead at the half ignited by an 8-0 run to start the game. Coker struggled from the floor in the first half and their shooting woes would continue into the second half as the Royals picked up the 78-53 victory.

Errick Bethel and Aubrey Daniel led the way for Coker with 14 and 10 points apiece. Jalen Watson and Trey James led the way defensively with seven and six rebounds, respectively.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Jan. 10) for a South Atlantic Conference showdown at home against Anderson University. The women tip at 2 p.m. with the men beginning immediately afterwards at 4 p.m.
