Team Effort Leads Coker to Victory Over Erskine

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras picked an impressive 68-60 win over the Erskine College Flying Fleet on Saturday (Nov. 15) in day two of the Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. With the win the Cobras move to 1-1 on the year.

Coker had an outstanding night shooting, hitting 61.3 percent (19-31) from the floor, 50 percent (3-6) from beyond the arc and 81.8 percent (27-33) from the charity stripe. The Cobras also spread the scoring wealth with four of the five starters scoring in double figures.

Errick Bethel led the scoring with 19 points and two rebounds, while Larry Felder added 18 points and nine rebounds. Aubrey Daniel had 12 points with five rebounds and Trey Marshall chipped in 10 points, three assists and two boards. Donte Samuels fell just shy of double figures with seven points, and four rebounds.

The Cobras led from the opening tip-off until the final whistle, holding as much as a 21-point lead with 13:57 left in the second half.

Coker will return to the floor on Wednesday (Nov. 19) for its South Atlantic Conference opener against Newberry College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Coker's DeLoach Center.
