Coker Men’s Basketball Opens Season with Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will take on the North Greenville University Crusaders and The Erskine College Flying Fleet as a part of the Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge taking place in Coker's brand-new Harris E. and Louise H. DeLoach Center. The Cobras will take on North Greenville on Friday (Nov. 14) at 8 p.m. and will then take on Erskine on Saturday (Nov. 15) at 9:30 p.m. Live stats and broadcast will be available via www.cokercobras.com.

The Navy and Yellow are coming off a close exhibition loss to Division I Campbell University. The Cobras are led by senior forward Larry Felder who was named preseason second team All-SAC after a junior season where he averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds. Felder opened up his season with stellar 28 point and 11 rebound performance against Campbell.

The Crusaders travel to Hartsville after taking on Georgia Southern University and nearby Furman University in exhibitions. They finished last season with an even 14-14 record which included a trip to the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas tournament.

The Flying Fleet are coming off 15-12 campaign last year, where they also advanced to the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas tournament.

This weekend's games will be the first to take place in newly opened Harris E. and Louise H. DeLoach Center and are all a part of the Sodexo SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. Games tip-off on Friday at 12:30 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Reserved seating will be $15, general admission for adults will be $5, students with ID and seniors will be $3 and admission is free for all Coker College students, faculty and staff. Ticket will be good for all four games each day.
