Coker Falls to Anderson 82-72

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A trio of Cobras scored in double figures in Coker's 82-72 loss to Anderson University on Saturday (Feb. 22) in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. The loss drops Coker to 13-10 overall and 10-10 in the SAC.

Julian Nelson led all Cobra scorers with 19 points, while Trey Marshall added 14 points and six assists. Larry Felder also scored 14 points and Eren Moses chipped in seven points with nine rebounds.

After falling behind early in the game, the Cobras battled back to take a 39-36 lead in to the locker room at halftime. The Trojans turned up the offense in the second half as they out scored the Cobras 46-33, earning the 82-72 victory.

As a team the Cobras turned nine Trojan turnovers in 16 points, they scored 40 points off the bench and they pulled down 32 rebounds.

Tonight marked the final basketball game that will be played in Coker's Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium. Built in 1963, Timberlake-Lawton has been the home the Cobra basketball and volleyball teams for more than 50 years. Next year, the Cobras will play in the DeLoach Center, which will be completed in April 2014.

The Cobras will return to the hardwood on Wednesday (Feb. 26) for a road game at Lenoir-Rhyne. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. following the women's game.
