Cobras Go For Season Sweep of Trojans in Home Finale

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's basketball team will host the Anderson University Trojans on Saturday (Feb. 22) in a pivotal South Atlantic Conference game. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. with live coverage of the game available at www.cokercobras.com

Saturday's game will be the final scheduled home game for six seniors on the Coker men's team. Jonathon Gardner, Julian Nelson, Eren Moses, Teon Beckett, Bryce Arnott and Eric White comprise the extraordinary group of seniors. The group will be honored during halftime of the women's game and be presented with medallions from the SAC commemorating their college careers. The game will also mark the final men's hoops game in the historic Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium, as the Cobras make the move to the new Harris E. and Louise H. Deloach Center next season.

The Navy and Yellow enter the game 13-10 overall with a 10-9 mark in the SAC. Leading the way offensively for Coker is Nelson and his 19 points per game, which is good for sixth in the SAC. Larry Felder continues to be a scoring and rebounding monster with his 12.6 points per contest and team-leading 6.5 rebounds per game. The super-sub duo of Errick Bethel and Trey Marshall have been a spark off the bench for the Cobras all season with their 10.8 and 10 points per game averages, respectively.

The Trojans enter the game 18-7 overall and third in the SAC standings with a 13-6 record. Anderson is coming off an eight point loss in their most recent contest against Carson-Newman on Wednesday (Feb. 19) night. The Trojans rely heavily on the offensive output of the league's leading scorer Chandler Hash. Along with Hash's 23.8 points per game, Cj Gleaton and Myson Jones contribute 15.4 and 11.7 points per contest, respectively, to the Anderson offense.

Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased at the door for $5 for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff. Saturday will also be Make-A-Wish night. "Blue-Out" t-shirts will be sold at the door for $10, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Coker will also be making a special jersey presentation to a Make-A-Wish family, in honor of Dajohnna Frasier.
