Cobras Pick Up 75-68 Win Over Wingate

WINGATE, N.C. – Three Cobras combined for 44 points off the bench in Coker's 75-68 win over the Wingate Bulldogs on Thursday (Jan. 30) night in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Coker is now 10-7 overall and 7-6 in league play.

Trey Marshall, Errick Bethel and Larry Felder scored 17, 15 and 12 points respectively for the Cobras. Felder fell just short of a double-double with nine rebounds, while Bethel pulled down six rebounds and Marshall dished out three assists. Also scoring in double figures was Eren Moses 13 points and five rebounds.

At halftime the Cobras held a narrow 33-29 lead thanks to hitting 4-of-9 from beyond the arc and 7-of-10 from the charity stripe.

In the second half Wingate built as much as a seven-point advantage with 12:30 left in the game. However, a 15-7 run by Coker, put the Cobras back on top. The Bulldogs stayed within striking distance for the remainder of the game. They cut the Cobra lead to two-points, 66-64, with just over a minute left, but Marshall nailed a 3-pointer with 50 seconds left, to secure the Coker victory.

The Cobras will continue their two-game road trip on Saturday (Feb. 1) at Lincoln Memorial. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. following the women's game at 6 p.m.
