Queens Tops Coker 71-58

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Four Cobras scored in double figures in Coker's 71-58 loss to Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday (Jan. 8) night.

Julian Nelson led the way for Coker with 12 points, while Eren Moses had 10 points and seven rebounds. Teon Beckett and James Brown also scored 10 points apiece.

Queens took the lead early with an 8-0 run to start the game. Coker clawed its way back into the game and took its first lead of the contest, 19-18, thanks to a jump shot from Moses with 9:18 left in the half. The game remained tight for the remainder of the half, and the Royals took a 33-31 lead into halftime.

The Royals continued to add to their lead in the second half. The Cobras were able to trim the lead to just 10 points, 68-58, with a minute remaining, but Queens went on to take home the victory 71-58.

The Cobras will return to the floor on Saturday  (Jan. 11) for a SAC road game at Anderson. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. following the women's game at 2 p.m.
