Cobras Look to Dethrone Royals in SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's basketball team will look to pick up a South Atlantic Conference win against its conference rival Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday (Jan. 8) in the friendly confines of the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium. The game is set for an 8 p.m. tip and the game will be available for a live webcast at www.cokercobras.com.

The navy and yellow are coming off a 28-point rout of Brevard College and enter the game 6-4, with a 3-3 conference record. The Cobras continue to be led offensively by the duo of Julian Nelson and Larry Felder. Nelson is leading the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game, while Felder is averaging 14 points on 73.4 percent shooting from the field. Felder's field-goal percentage is good for first in the SAC and second in NCAA Division II.

The Royals enter the game at 5-5, and 3-3 in SAC play. Queens is currently on a two-game winning streak, but is 0-3 on the road this season. Leading the Royals offensively are Jarrett Stokes and Nkosi Ali who score 20.8 and 13.3 points per game, respectively.

Tickets for Wednesday night's game can be purchased at the door for $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and are free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff. It will also be Trinity-Byrnes Night, with all Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate students, faculty, and staff  receiving free admission to the games with proper school ID.
