Coker Hoops Set to Take On Lincoln Memorial

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's basketball team will be looking to capture a South Atlantic Conference win on Saturday (Dec. 7), as they prepare to host No. 23 ranked Lincoln Memorial in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.  The game will be available for a live webcast at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is coming off a 91-87 win over Benedict in their most recent competition.  The navy and yellow found themselves down 47-35 at the break, but then put together a second half offensive surge to complete the come-from-behind win.   

Julian Nelson leads the Cobra offense with 15.5 points per game, while Larry Felder is second on the team with 14.5.  Heading the defensive efforts for the Cobras is senior forward Sharod Williams, who leads the team 8.2 rebounds per game.  Nelson is just 22 points shy of reaching 1,000 career points as a Cobra, while Williams is just three boards away from reaching 500 career rebounds.      

Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 99-63 win over Bob Jones University in their most recent competition.  The Railsplitters are led by senior forward Vincent Bailey who averages 22.3 points per game. 
 
Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased at the door for $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free to all Coker students, faculty, and staff.  Saturday's game is also YMCA day.  All YMCA members get in free with their YMCA membership card.
