Queens Tops Coker 64-54

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker Cobras suffered a 64-54 loss to the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte on Tuesday (Nov. 26) night in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action.

Errick Bethel led the Cobra offense as he poured in a career high 18 points off the bench. Fifteen of Bethel's 18 points came from beyond the arc. Also scoring in double figures was Julian Nelson with 12 points. Bryce Arnott dished out a game high eight assists, while Sharod Williams and Teon Beckett pulled down seven rebounds each.

The start of the game was a bit rough for the Cobras, as they fell behind 21-0. A three-pointer by Arnott put the Cobras on the board with just under 10 minutes left in the half, and began a 19-7 Coker run that sent them into the locker room down 28-19.

Coker began the second half with an 11-2 run, tying the game at 30 with 15:45 left. The Cobras kept the score close, but they were unable to gain a lead as Queens took home the 64-54 win.

The Cobras will return home for their next game on Tuesday (Dec. 3) against Benedict College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
