Deuble and de Vilder Named to Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Carla Deuble and Simcha de Vilder of the Coker College field hockey team were named to the Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team, the organization announced today. The Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team is comprised of the nation's best NCAA Division II freshman players.

De Vilder was the anchor of the Cobras stout defense this season that allowed the second fewest goals in the conference with 29. The freshman from Amstelveen, Noord-Holland had one shot on goal and a defensive save during the season. De Vilder was named to the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas First Team for her standout season. She is the daughter of Ronald de Vilder and Daphne Kellerman.

Deuble was pivotal to the Cobras on offense and defense this season. The freshman from Ulm, Germany had five goals, four assists, 14 points, and one game-winning goal. Deuble started in all 13 matches for Coker and was named to the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas First Team. She is the daughter of Antje and Thomas Deuble, and is majoring in business administration.
