Esports Beats Daemen, Falls to Washington & Lee to Close Out Season

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College Hearthstone team played their final two varsity matches against Daemen College and Washington & Lee University on Monday (Apr. 1).

The first match against Daemen started off slow as Coker went down 0-2, but the Cobras had a strategy to counter Daemen's Mid-Range Hunter deck. Daemen was not able to find a win with their Hunter deck and Coker was able to reverse sweep them to win 3-2.

In their last match against Washington & Lee University, Coker needed a win and they would be in the playoffs. Coker again went down 0-2, but were able to rally back to equal the match at two all. The last match was Washington & Lee's Mid-Range Hunter against Coker's Malygos Druid. Coker was able to stay alive and keep the board under control, but Washington & Lee had too much pressure and Coker lost the match 2-3.

This ends the season for the Cobras one game shy of the playoffs.
