Esports Drops Hearthstone Match to Northeastern

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College Hearthstone team played their round six matchup against Northeastern University on Saturday (Mar. 2).

This was a must win for the Cobras and Northeaster came in without a loss. The first match was Coker's Malygos Druid vs Northeastern's Malygos Priest. Northeastern was able to keep control of the board but Coker was able to draw Malygos at the perfect time to complete their combo and win the first game. The second match was Coker's Odd Mage deck versus the Malygos Priest they just faced. This time the tables were turned as Coker was the one to control the board but Northeastern was able to draw their combo on the last turn to win the game and equalize the match at 1-1. Next was the Mage deck vs. Northeastern's Mill Druid, where they were able to get to late game and win the round with their togwaggle combo. Last up was Northeastern's Hunter deck, but Coker's two remaining decks have decent win-rates against it. Coker decided to keep going with their Mage deck against the Midrange Hunter deck. Sadly it looked like Coker was not going to get a win with their mage today as Northeastern was able to find a turn to do 20 damage to Coker for the win, giving them the match 3-1.

The Cobras will be back in action on Monday (Mar. 11).
