Cobras Cruise to Varsity League Win Over Florida Southern College

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College Overwatch team played their second match in the Varsity Overwatch Championship on Tuesday (Jan. 29) against Florida Southern College.

The first map was Lijiang tower and the Cobras started off the match by getting a perfect round. The second round would prove to be a little closer as the point got traded back and forth, but Coker was able to take the round and the map win. Florida Southern chose King's Row for the second map with the Cobras starting the attack. Coker was able to take the point fairly quickly and after a few speed bumps they were able to push it throughout the map. Florida Southern were now forced to do the same and while they were able to push Coker back a few times, Andrew Schick was able to use his Transcendence to get on the point at the last second to stall long enough for the rest of the team to get back and protect the first point. This allowed Coker to win the map and the match.

With the win it puts Coker at 2-0 in the Varsity League and they will return this Sunday for more matches in the Regional and National League starting at 5:30 PM. The Cobras are currently 4-0 in the National league and 1-1 in the Regional league and you can catch all the action at www.twitch.tv/cokeresports and follow them on twitter at www.twitter.com/cokeresports.
