HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College esports team faced off against Champlain College and the University of Central Florida Sunday (Nov. 18) evening in week nine of the Overwatch Tespa Preseason. The first match was against Champlain and the first map was a nailbiter. Coker was able to roll through Dorado keeping a respectable 1:43 left on the clock. Next, it was Champlain's turn to attack. Champlain was able to speed through the first two points and were less than five meters from capping the final point with 3:30 left, but Coker was able to recover with the help of some great ultimate from the tanks, Dalton King and Dustin Brown. Champlain kept firing back, but the Cobras were able to find their footing and hold them to the point, winning the map. The next map was Nepal and Champlain came back with a vengeance. Coker was able to take the point back and hold it, capturing the first point. For the second round it was Coker's turn to take control first, but both teams were able to win fights and take back the point. After a back and forth round, both teams were sitting at 99% and the winner of the next fight would win the round. This time it was Andrew Schick's time to shine as he found multiple kills with his Tactical Visor. Coker was able to win the round and the match 2-0.

Next up was Central Florida and this is not the first time these two teams have faced off against each other. Coker faced off against the B team back in week one and took on the main roster back in week seven. In their last meeting, UCF was able to beat Coker 2-0 and the Cobras wanted to answer them back. On Busan the first round was back and forth with both teams reaching 99%. However, UCF was able to find a fight in their favor to win the first round. For the second round of Busan, UCF was able to capture the point first and hold onto it in overtime. Coker was able to take the point back, but they now needed to hold it for the rest of the round. They were able to hold it just past 50%, but UCF was able to take it back and win the map.  Next was Horizon and UCF was first to attack. Although they were able to take the first point quickly and get a tick on the second, Coker was able to regroup and defend the second point until time ran out. Next was Coker's turn to attack and they as well were able to take the first point very quickly, but UCF was able to recover faster and prevent the snowball. Coker still had over six minutes to take the second point, but UCF was able to hold their ground and prevent the Cobras from capping, winning the match 2-0.
