Coker Esports Falls to Bentley in League of Legends Playoffs

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - This Saturday (Nov. 17) the Coker College esports team played in the League of Legends Collegiate Star League Preseason Playoffs after making it out of groups with a 4-1 record. Their first match in the Round of 64 was against Bentley University. Bentley started the match strong getting a quick first blood and then using that advantage to get an early 3-1 kill lead. Coker was able to come back and equalize the kill count, but while Coker's top lane was winning, Bentley's Mid and Bot lane were winning as well. With a fed ADC and assassin, the Falcons were able to snowball their lead to an early 22 minute win.

Game two started very similar to game one where Bentley started the game with a quick lead. This time Coker would not go down without a fight and was able to win a fight where they not only earned the rift herald, but was able to capture two quick towers in the midlane. Although the gold difference was getting closer, Bentley realized their mistakes and won back-to-back teamfights. This led to a big advantage where they were able to take Baron, and then soon after, the game.

With a 2-0 loss, the Cobras have wrapped up preseason play, but will return to action in January with the Collegiate League of Legends Season where they will be competing against other schools in the South region.
