Esports Defeats Finger Lakes Community College in League of Legends

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College esports team defeated Finger Lakes Community College 2-0 Saturday (Oct. 27) afternoon in League of Legends action.

In game one, Coker gave up an early lead and trailed by 3k gold in 20 minutes. But after Finger Lakes took Baron, the Cobras were able to stop their backs and defeat four members of their team, leaving them with only one baron buff. Coker was then able to hold off the push and use their momentum to take game one.

In game two, the Cobras took a very early lead. Coker's jungler, Stephen Gifford-Reis, was playing Kayne and was able to get half of the kills in the game. He earned an early triple kill in the midlane and he snowballed his lead into a win for the Cobras. He finished the game with 12 kills and only three deaths, leading the charge for Coker to take the win and a second place finish in their division.

Next week, Coker faces off against the University of New Brunswick, and if the Cobras can maintain their second place spot, they will be able to advance to the playoffs. You can catch the game at 3 PM, Saturday Nov. 3 during the Extra Life charity stream, where Coach Joseph Rudy will be the play-by-play announcer for the game.
