Coker Esports Sweeps Ferris State and North Dakota State in Tespa Overwatch Preseason Play

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College esports team swept Ferris State and North Dakota State 2-0 Sunday (Oct. 7) evening in Tespa Overwatch Preseason play.

All three teams came into this week with a 3-1 record in Tespa Overwatch action. Coker first took on Ferris State and quickly took Ilios 2-0. After defending the first point on Hanamura, it was now up to the Cobras to cap the point and win the match. The Bulldogs held on valiantly, but eventually the Cobras were able to cap the point and win the match.

Next up was North Dakota State, and the first map was Horizon. The Cobras were able to take both points quickly and now had to defend. After losing the first point on the first push, the Navy and Gold were able to hold point B for almost seven minutes to win the first map. Next up was Oasis, and Coker again came out swinging, winning the first round 100% to 0%. However, the Bison would not give up without a fight as they took the second round. The Cobras would then bounce back and take the third round, winning the map and the match 2-0.

The Cobras will return next Sunday (Oct. 14) in Week four of the preseason, where they will face off against other 5-1 teams.
