Coker Esports Finishes 4-0 in Opens Division, Garners 12th Place in Tespa Lucioball Tournament

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College Esports team opened up preseason tournament play with a perfect 4-0 record in the Overwatch Opens Division. The Cobras also competed in the Tespa Lucioball Tournament, finishing with a 4-1 record in group play and advancing to playoff competition. The Navy and Gold recorded a 1-2 record in the playoffs, good for a 12th place finish.

Although there were a few matches that didn't get played, the Coker Cobras Overwatch team had a successful opening weekend. In the Opens Division, two opponents forfeited, awarding the Cobras with their first two victories.

Three members of Coker's Overwatch squad competed in the Tespa Lucioball Tournament and placed 12th, defeating teams from the University of Georgia and Yavapia College. The team consisted of goalie Andrew "Shammy" Schick, midfielder Jonathan "Veliicelis" Gill, and Dalton "Smite" King. The team earned $20 per player in Battle.net currency. In the playoffs, the Navy and Gold dropped a tight contest to the University of Colorado for the 12th place finish.
