Rudy Signs Army Veteran, Robert Pack to Esports Squad

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College Director of Esports Joseph Rudy has announced the addition of United States Army Veteran Robert "Blake" Pack to the 2018-19 roster. Pack will play in the support/top position in League of Legends.

"I am thrilled that we were able to sign Robert as summer was ending," Rudy said. "He is the final member of our league team and is the perfect final piece that we needed. Additionally, I'm looking forward to the leadership Robert will bring to our team through his past experiences."

Pack, a native of Alcolu, South Carolina, attended Laurence Manning Academy where he competed on the soccer team for the Swampcats. Pack went on to attend USC Sumter where he was a member of the men's soccer and esports teams. During the 2011-12 year, Pack was the NJCAA Division I saves leader.

During his time serving in the Army, Pack was a biomedical equipment specialist. He trained in San Antonio, Texas and was promoted to sergeant in just three and a half years. In addition, Pack attended Leadership Academy at Ft. Stewart with the 3rd Infantry Division.

"I'm excited to join the esports team here at Coker," said Pack. "I look forward to coming in and helping out the team in any way I can. The inaugural year is a big year and we are here to compete."

Pack is the son of Bevan Byrd, Robbie Pack, and Cindy Pack. He plans to major in business administration at Coker.
