Rudy Inks Steeves as Third Member of Esports Team

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College Director of Esports Joseph Rudy announced the addition of Justin Steeves to the 2018-19 roster. Steeves is Coker's third esports signee, and joins Michael Ponton and Stephen Gifford-Reis on the squad.

"I am very happy to have a Hartsville native join our team," said Rudy. "Justin is very excited to join our team and welcome his teammates to his hometown. Justin also has some experience when it comes to streaming on his twitch channel, and hopes to share his experience with the rest of the team."

Steeves is from Hartsville, S.C., where he attended Hartsville High School. He was a member of the cross country and track & field teams for the Red Foxes. Following his time at Hartsville High School, Steeves attended Florence Darlington Technical College and earned his associate degree in accounting, marketing, and management. Steeves will be competing in Overwatch as a Cobra and plans to major in marketing at Coker.

He is the son of Lynn and Stephen Steeves.

  • Overwatch — a multiplayer game of modern warfare

  • Hearthstone — a fast-paced, turn-based online card game
