Sam Bashioum enters his first season as the team's assistant coach in 2018.

Bashioum comes to Coker after serving as the head assistant baseball coach at Division III Thiel College for the past two years. Before Thiel, Bashioum coached at Bethany College where he was an assistant coach and the head pitching coach with the Bison the last two seasons. At Bethany, he was also an associate professor and an assistant staffing coordinator.
 
With the Bison, Bashioum mentored three All-PAC pitchers including 2015 All-PAC First Team selection Zac Edmiston and two-time All-PAC Honorable Mention selection Ryan Bisi.
 
Bashioum also has experience coaching summer leagues after serving as the head coach of the Genesee Rapids of the New York Collegiate Baseball League and the Conway Cadets of the Beach Collegiate Baseball League in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 2015 and 2016.
 
Bashioum is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and is certified as a fitness instructor by the American Sports and Fitness Association.
 
Bashioum earned a master's degree in higher education from Bethany College in 2016. He received a bachelor's degree in communications from Seton Hill University in 2013. A pitcher at Division II Seton Hill, Bashioum competed in three NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Tournaments with the Griffins and compiled a 12-4 career record.
 
A two-time academic all-conference team selection, Bashioum was Seton Hill's male student-athlete of the year in 2013.
