Adam Vasil Hired as Pitching Coach

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Adam Vasil has been hired as the new pitching coach for the Coker University baseball program, announced by head coach Luke Harrigan today (Tuesday, July 16).

Vasil comes to Hartsville after one year as the graduate assistant pitching coach at the University of Indianapolis, where he assisted with all facets of the baseball program. With his guidance, the Greyhounds were able to lower their team earned run average, team walks and hits per innings pitched (WHIP), runs allowed and batting average against. Prior to UIndy, he worked as a training specialist at the Florida Baseball Ranch in Plant City, Fla. In that role, he worked with individuals on player development including mechanics and strength and conditioning. He previously worked with high school baseball showcases in all facets of recruiting and marketing.

"We had a lot of quality candidates and Adam really stood out with his individual plan and his experience in player development," said Harrigan. "Adam comes from winning programs both at Ashland and Indianapolis and has learned the game from some really good baseball guys. He is a young enthusiastic coach that will be a great addition to our program and our players."

He holds a bachelor's degree in business management and entrepreneurship with a minor in information systems from Ashland University, and will complete his master's of business administration (MBA) with a focus in organizational leadership at UIndy in August.
