Cobras Drop Doubleheader, Series to Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, PA.- Coker baseball was swept by Seton Hill over the weekend, losing both games of the Saturday doubleheader 7-0 and 6-4.

The first game saw the Cobras mount only six hits in a 7-0 shutout. Jack Leech collected two hits, along with Will Winslow, Bryson Conner, Miguel Frias and Ryan Wayne each tallying one. Forrest Arnold (3-2) took the loss, tossing six innings and allowing seven earned runs on eight hits. Arnold also walked two and struck out two.

Game two saw the Cobras offense get plenty of chances but ultimately come up short in the 6-4 walk-off loss. Coker would jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles from Darius Coldiron and Frias. The Griffins would tie the game in the bottom of the fourth, before the teams traded two-run frames in the fifth. Leech would pick up his third hit of the day with a two-RBI single to left. In total Conner collected a three-hit game, while Winslow, Coldiron, Lopez, Frias, Leech and Colton Henthorne would all record one hit apiece in the contest. Anthony Scaccia (3-1) took the loss, firing two innings in relief and allowing two earned runs on two hits in the final inning.

The Cobras come home and host Bluefield State on Tuesday (Mar. 15) in non-conference action. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. at Tom J. New Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
