ANDERSON, S.C.- It took clutch hitting and shutdown pitching at the right time for Coker to sweep Anderson on Saturday (Mar. 5) and win the series 2-1. The visitors squeaked by with a 16-14 victory in game one, before taking the rubber match 9-5 in eight innings.

A seven-run eighth inning powered Coker past the Trojans in game one, highlighted by Darius Coldiron's two-run homer. Jack Leech, Colton Henthorne and AJ Strnad each collected RBI singles in the inning, while Will Winslow added an RBI double in the frame.

The Cobras would add on to three other mutli-run innings with the seven spot. Winslow Bryson Conner and Thomas Lopez all notched 4-6 games, Winslow with three RBI and Lopez with one. Winslow and Coldiron also homered in the contest. Anthony Scaccia (3-0) collected the win in the marathon, firing 2.1 innings of relief allowing five runs, one earned on five hits. The southpaw also walked two and punched out one.

Coker would need an extra frame to take game two, pushing four runs across in the eighth to seal the win. The four-run frame was highlighted by RBI doubles from Frias, Leech and Strnad, as well as an RBI single from Ryan Wayne. Coldiron posted a 3-3 game with his second homer of the day, collecting three RBI and scoring once. Strnad also hit his first long ball of the year in the win.
