Cobras Plate 17 runs in Non-Conference win over Saints

GAFFENEY, S.C. – The Coker College baseball team picked up their fourth straight win on Wednesday (Apr. 8) taking down the Limestone College Saints 17-11 in a non-conference matchup.

The Cobras pounded 21 hits leading to 17 runs in the offensive explosion. Michael Orlowski led the charge going 5-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Jack Leech and Joe Diaz each went 3-for-5. Leech had three RBIs, two doubles and a run scored, while Diaz hit a home run, plated three RBIs and scored two runs. Will Winslow and Taylor Fennewald each went 2-for-4. Winslow had two RBIs and four runs scored, while Fennewald scored two runs and picked up two RBIs. Bryson Conner along with classmate Alex Rodriguez finished the afternoon 2-for-5. Conner scored twice and Rodriguez had two RBIs.

Will Sutton (1-1) earned the win. He went five innings, scattering four hits and allowing one earned run.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Apr. 11) for game one of their three-game SAC series against the visiting Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters, First pitch is set for 12 p.m. at Tom J. New Field.
