Coker Baseball Dominates Voorhees 39-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras dominated the visiting Voorhees Tigers, 39-0, in non-conference collegiate baseball action on Wednesday (Mar. 25) afternoon.

The Coker offense exploded for 39 runs on 22 hits, while the Cobra pitching staff shut out the Tigers, allowing just two hits in nine innings.

JT Whritner (1-1) earned the victory on the mound. He shut down Voorhees, throwing a no hitter through five innings, allowing no runs and striking out seven.

Seven Cobra hitters had multiple hits in the game. Tyler Osik led the charge with four hits including a double, a grand slam home run, seven RBIs and five runs scored. Jack Leech drove in five runs on two hits including a double with two runs scored and Will Winslow drove in six runs with a double and a pair of runs scored. Brady Bassford picked up a pair of hits and drove in three runs, while Bryson Conner drove in four runs and scored three. Also driving in multiple runs for the Cobras were Michael Orlowski with three RBIs and Dustin Russell with two RBIs.

The Cobras will be back on the diamond on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 27-28) for a three-game South Atlantic Conference series against Catawba College. First pitch for game one is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. at Coker's Tom J. New Field.
