HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College baseball team dropped games one and two of a Saturday (Feb. 14) South Atlantic Conference doubleheader against the visiting Wingate University Bulldogs.

In game one, Coker held a 4-2 lead after three innings. The Bulldogs would respond by scoring in the next three innings to take the game with a 13-5 victory. Alex Rodriguez led the Coker offense by going 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Ryan O'Melia and Bryson Connor each went 2-for-5 as well.

In game two, Coker picked up runs in the second, third and fourth inning but it would not be enough as Wingate would continue their impressive offensive play, scoring in six of the seven innings played and taking the game 20-4. The Cobras will be back at home on Tuesday (Feb. 17) to take on St. Andrews in a non-conference matchup. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
