HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A pair of Coker baseball players have been selected as all-conference performers by the South Atlantic Conference, the league office announced today.
T.J. Giczkowski earned second team all-conference honors at third base, while Ernie Kirkwood was selected as an honorable mention outfielder.
Giczkowski led the Cobras at the plate this season with a team best .361 batting average, 10 doubles and 37 runs scored. He was also second on the team, and the conference, in stolen bases with 22 bags. He drove in 29 runs and belted a pair of home runs.
A senior from Elma, N.Y., Giczkowski is a physical education and sports studies major. He is the son of Karen and Tom Giczkowski.
Also an offensive juggernaut for the Cobras this season, Kirkwood led the Cobras in extra base hits with 10 doubles, six triples and two home runs. He drove in a team leading 38 runs, stole 15 bases and scored 26 runs with a .327 batting average.
Kirkwood, a senior physical education and sports studies major, hails from Horseheads, N.Y. He is the son of Candy and Ernest Kirkwood.
