Cobras Shutout the Knights 8-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras defeated the St. Andrews Knights with ease, 8-0, on Tuesday (April 1) in a non-conference baseball game. With the win the Cobras improve to 18-14 on the year.

Coker wasted no time getting on the board as they plated three runs in the first inning. The Navy and Yellow pushed two more across in the second, along with a single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

Six pitchers toed the rubber for the Cobras, holding the Knights scoreless and allowing just eight hits. Adam Webb (4-0) earned the win with two scoreless innings of work on the hill. He allowed one hit and recorded a strikeout. 

Sammy Song continued his dominance at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Tyler Bires also picked up a pair of hits with an RBI and a run scored, while Fico Kondla had a double with two RBIs and Dustin Russell had a triple with an RBI. Also driving in runs for the Cobras were Shea Bell, Jarren Donato and Ernie Kirkwood.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (April 2) for another home game, this time against St. Augustine's. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
