Coker Completes Sweep of Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Andrew Goot (Oldsmar, Fla.) threw nine spectacular innings for the Coker baseball team, leading the Cobras to a 5-2 win over Limestone College on Sunday. The win completed the Cobras three-game sweep of the Saints, improving their Conference Carolinas record to 3-3.

Goot (3-2) went this distance for the win, scattering five hits and allowing two runs while fanning eight Saints.

Leading the Cobras at the plate were Jake Frazier (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.) and Fico Kondla (Miami, Fla.). Frazier drove in a pair of runs on a two-run homer and Kondla brought home a trio of runners. Frank Suarez (Miami, Fla.) and Chad Nader (Rock Hill, S.C.) each had three hits with a run scored as well.

The Cobras will continue their road stint on Tuesday when they travel to Claflin University. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
