Was named Associate Head Coach on July 15th, 2024.

In his second year as Head Coach for Coker, Dunn helped bring a record of 8-6-3 overall, 5-5-1 in South Atlantic Conference play, and was able to go 4-1-2 at home, the Cobras were able to make a South Atlantic Conference tournament vs. Limestone. Dunn helped coached four South Atlantic Conference All-Conference consisting of Celestin Blondel, Jacques Fokam Sandeu, Matty Tricker, and Frederic Benedix. Dunn was also able to help the Cobras earn the Fair Play Award for the South Atlantic Conference. Jacques Fokam Sandeu was also named SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month

In his first year as Assistant Coach for Coker, Dunn helped bring in a record of 6-2-9 overall and 5-0-6 in South Atlantic Conference play with a South Atlantic Conference post-season appearance against LMU. During the 2022-23 season Dunn helped coached seven SAC All-Conference players consisting of Gustavo Palmieri, Celestin Blondel, Che Richards, Matty Tricker, Frederic Benedix, Nikola Sotra, and Jasper Rump. Gustavo Palmieri was also named the SPC Credit Union Athlete of the Month. 

Matt Dunn was named as Coker Men's Soccer's assistant coach on June 7, 2022. 

Dunn comes to Hartsville after serving two years as an assistant coach on the women’s staff at Fort Hays State University. Dunn coached five All-Conference selections in two seasons, and the team reached the conference tournament in 2021. Prior to Fort Hays State, he was a student assistant at his alma mater Lees-McRae College, assisting with camps and all facets of the program in the offseason.

Dunn appeared in 33 games in a Lees-McRae Bobcats uniform over four seasons, and was also Team Captain as a senior. Dunn played in four Conference Carolinas tournaments, as the Bobcats reached the tournament semifinals twice during his career. 

Dunn holds an English FA Level Two Soccer Coaching certification, is a holder of an English FA Youth Module 1 and also holds a United States Soccer Federation D License. He earned his master’s degree in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in exercise science from Fort Hays State in May 2022, while also holding a bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness with a concentration in Human Performance from Lees-McRae, which he earned in 2020.
