Tyler “Gus” Mohlhenrich joined the Coker staff as the Cobras’ Director of Athletics Media Relations in August of 2016.
He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and currently serves as the Southeast Region Coordinator for the Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association (D2CCA) men's basketball team.
In addition to his athletic media relations responsibilites, Mohlhenrich serves as a member of Coker's Apple Steering Committee, which is tasked to design and implement programs objectives for AccessCoker. AccessCoker is an initiative that provides all incoming freshman with iPads. Furthermore, Mohlhenrich is a member of the Coker Staff Advisory Council, which facilitates communication among staff and College administration about interests, concerns, and issues that affect staff and the institution as a whole.
Mohlhenrich came to Coker after a two-year stint at Messiah College where he served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for Messiah’s 22 NCAA Division III athletic teams. While at Messiah he assisted in all aspects of the athletic communications office, including coordinating social media communication, helping produce live video streaming and compiling sports statistics.
Prior to his time at Messiah, Mohlhenrich worked with American Adventure Sports (Greensburg, Pa.), the University of Pittsburgh Athletics, the Bowie Baysox (AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles), and Towson University.
A successful high school and collegiate athlete, Mohlhenrich was a multi-sport athlete as a member of the wrestling, football, and lacrosse teams at Winters Mill High School in Maryland. He was a Maryland State wrestling runner-up, a NHSCA Wrestling All-American, Maryland State Lacrosse Champion (2007), and a two-year varsity football starter.
He attended Seton Hill University where he focused his efforts on wrestling and was a four-year letter winner in the 157, 165, and 174 weight classes.
Originally from Westminster, Md., Mohlhenrich holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Seton Hill and a master’s degree in college athletics management from Messiah.
