4th Annual Cobra Club Golf Outing

The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Women’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Mount Olive
    • Saturday at 5:30 p.m. (A) – Catawba
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (L) – 7-1
    • Queens (L) – 2-0
  • The Cobra women will hit the road for a pair of road matches this week. The first a non-conference match at Mount Olive on Wednesday and the second a conference match at Catawba on Saturday.

Men’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Saturday at 8:00 p.m. (A) – Catawba
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (W) – 2-1
    • Queens (W) – 5-1
  • Last week the Cobra men picked up two huge South Atlantic Conference victories against Lenoir-Rhyne and Queens. This week they will look to extend their winning streak with a SAC match against Catawba on Saturday.

Women’s Volleyball

  • The women’s volleyball team will continue its road trip by traveling to Tennessee to take on Carson-Newman  and Lincoln Memorial on Friday and Saturday.

  • This week the Coker men's and women's cross country teams will head to Cary, N.C. to take part in the Great American Cross Country Festival.

Men’s Golf

  • This week’s tournament:
    • Monday-Tuesday at Aflac/Cougar Invitational in Columbus, Ga.
  • Last week’s tournament:
    • None
  • This week the Cobra men’s golf team travels to Columbus, Ga. for the Aflac/Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State University on Monday and Tuesday. The men have had success at the Country Club of Columbus; earning top eight finishes in each of the last two seasons.

Women’s Golf

  • Last week’s tournament:
    • Etowah Intercollegiate – 4 of 6
  • Last week the Coker women earned a fourth place finish at the Etowah Intercollegiate tournament.  Junior Taylor Demby and freshman Angela Luna, who both finished inside the top 10 individually, led the Navy and Yellow. Demby carded a second round 75 (+3) to finish with a two-day total of 152, which was good enough for a tie for fourth. Luna finished with a round of 79 (+7) after a day one 77 to shoot a two-day total of 156, which gave her, an eighth place finish overall. Sophomore Taylor Gaskins and senior Mallory Thompkins both placed inside the top 25 with two-day totals 169 and 171 respectively. Junior Tensley Clowser rounded out the starting five with a 36-hole score of 181.
