4th Annual Cobra Club Golf Outing

2014 Taste of Coker

The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Women’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne
    • Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (H) – Queens – Autism Awareness Night
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Converse (L) – 4-0
    • Anderson (L) – 9-0
  • The Cobra women will play host to a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches this week. They will start with Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday at end with Queens on Saturday. The match on Saturday will be Autism Awareness Night.

Men’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Lenior-Rhyne
    • Saturday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Queens
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lander (L) – 3-0
    • Anderson (L) – 1-0
  • This week the Cobra men will host Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday and Queens on Saturday. The match on Saturday will be Autism Awareness Night. 

Women’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:

    • Friday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Newberry

    • UNC Pembroke (L) – 3-1
  • The women’s volleyball team will host Catawba in a SAC match on Tuesday and then hit the road for three matches. They will travel to Newberry Friday and then on Saturday they will play at Anderson and Georgia Regents Augusta.  

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

  • Last week’s meet:
    • CIU Invitational – women – 2 of 5, men – 2 of 8
  • The Coker men's and women's cross country teams brought home a pair of second-place finishes at CIU Invitational on Saturday.  Leading the way for the men in the 5k event was Dylan Bates with a ninth-place finish. The senior posted a time of 17:01. Freshman Noah Cook followed close behind with a time of 17:22 and a 11th place finish. In the women's race, freshman Shauntel Smullen led the way with a fourth-place finish of 21 minutes in the 5k event. Freshman Makeda Eley-O'Reilly and sophomore Mercy Muhuhu posted seventh and eighth place finishes with times of 21:51 and 21:58, respectively. 

Men’s Golf

    • Kiawah Island Invitational – 13 of 18
  • The Coker College men's golf team opened the fall portion of its 2014-15 season with a 13th place finish at the Kiawah Island Invitational last week.

Women’s Golf

    • Monday-Tuesday at Etowah Intercollegiate in Etowah, N.C.
  • Last week’s tournament:

  • The Coker College women's golf team will be teeing it up Monday and Tuesday at the Etowah Intercollegiate. The Navy and Yellow are one of five SAC teams making the trip to Etowah Valley Golf Club. Host schools Brevard and Lincoln Memorial will be competing along with Carson Newman and Newberry.
