Wrestling

  • This week’s matches:
    • None.
  • Last week’s matches:
    • NCAA Midwest Regional – 13 of 17
  • The Coker wrestling team finished 13th in the Midwest Region.  Charlie Huff finished fourth individually, and qualified for the NCAA Championship in Cleveland, Ohio.  Huff is Coker’s first wrestler to ever qualify for the national tournament. 

Women’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:
    • Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. (A) – Lenoir-Rhyne - SAC Championship Quarterfinals
  • Last week’s games:
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (L) – 48-41
    • Tusculum (W) – 79-68
  • The Cobras will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne to face the Bears for the second time in two weeks this Wednesday, except this time the stakes are a little higher.  With a 79-68 win over Tusculum last Saturday, the Navy and Yellow earned the No. 8 seed in the SAC Championship Quarterfinals and will face L-R as the No. 1 seed.  This is the third consecutive year that the team has participated in post-season play.  

Men’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:
    • Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. (A) – Carson-Newman - SAC Championship Quarterfinals
  • Last week’s games:
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (L) – 77-68
    • Tusculum (W) – 90-71
  • The Cobra men went 1-1 last week with a dominating win over Tusculum and a tough loss to Lenoir-Rhyne.  This week they hit the road as the No. 7 seed to take on the No. 2 seed Carson-Newman in the SAC Championship Quarterfinals. 

Men’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • None
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lees-McRae (L) – 3-1
    • Erskine (L) – 3-0
    • Sacred Heart (L) – 3-1
    • Pfeiffer (L) – 3-0
  • The men’s volleyball team suffered four tough losses this week.  Coker will have the week off, as they look to bounce back for next week’s matches.    

Baseball

  • This week’s games:
    • Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – St. Augustine’s
    • Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – St. Andrews
    • Friday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne
    • Saturday (DH) at 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne 
  • Last week’s games:
    • Mars Hill (W) – 10-2
    • Barton (W) – 2-1
    • Anderson (L) – 9-5, 6-3, 5-4  
  • Coker had a tough end to the week after losing three straight road games at Anderson.  However, they will return home this week for 4-of-5 games where they have a 7-1 record at Tom J. New Field.     

Men’s & Women’s Tennis

  • Last week’s matches:
    • Catawba – 9-0 (L) – women, 8-1 (W) – men
    • Wingate – 9-0 (L) – women, 5-4 (L) - men
    • USC Aiken – 9-0 (L) – women, 5-4 (L) - men
  • The Cobra men and women play host to Benedict, Mars Hill and Liberty this week in three home matches.

Men’s & Women’s Golf

  • This week’s tournaments:
    • (M) Richard Rendleman Invitational at Salisbury, N.C.
    • (W) Lady Pirate Invitational at Savannah, Ga.
  • Last week’s tournaments:
    • (M) Pirate Invitational at Savannah, Ga. – 12 of 17
    • (W) None.
  • The Coker men’s golf team finished 12th in the Pirate Invitational last week.  This week the Cobras will travel to participate in the Richard Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College.  The Coker women will be back in action after a month off as they travel to compete in the Lady Pirate Invitational hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State.

Softball

  • This week’s games:
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 (A) – Barton (DH)
    • Sunday at TBA (A) – Barton College Softball Classic
  • Last week’s games:
    • Belmont Abbey– 16-1 (W), 6-5 (W)
    • St. Andrews – 7-6 (W) – 8 inn., 7-6 (L) – 9 inn.
  • Coker softball started off the week with a sweep over Belmont Abbey and then closed out the week by splitting its two-game series with St. Andrews. This week the Cobras will hit the road to Wilson, N.C. to face Barton College.   

Men’s Lacrosse

  • This week’s games:
    • Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – Queens (N.C)
    • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Ohio Valley
  • Last week’s games:
    • Wingate – 15-10 (W)
    • Mount Olive – 13-6 (L)
  • The Coker men’s lacrosse team split last week’s competitions, but picked up their first conference victory against Wingate.  This week they will have another shot at a conference win as they host Queens, before traveling to Ohio Valley for a non-conference competition.     

Women’s Lacrosse

  • This week’s games:
    • Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Queens (N.C)
  • Last week’s games:
    • Wingate – 19-11 (W)
  • The Coker women’s lacrosse team picked up their second win of the season last week, as they defeated Wingate in a South Atlantic Competition.  This week they will be looking to improve their SAC record as they prepare to host Queens in another conference match-up.
